Highveld Impact Crown — 2026

Highveld Impact Crown is a four-month youth innovation movement built across the 13 towns of Govan Mbeki Municipality.

HIC 2026 runs from intake through the Grand Gala at Graceland Hall, Secunda on 26 September 2026. The programme builds 230 Architects of Change — selected young people from across the municipality who go through a structured curriculum, mentorship, and capstone development cycle. Everyone in the community who isn't an Architect becomes a Micro-Investor in the cohort's community venture fund — because the only way the work scales is when the whole town has skin in it.

The rule that runs every HIC communication, every venture choice, every selection decision:

"If a grandmother in eMbalenhle and a sponsor in Sandton would both understand it, it's ready. If only one of them would, rewrite it."

Who runs it

Highveld Impact Crown is directed by Isaac Tau (Operations) and Portia Modiehi Mokoena (Co-Founder & Operations). It is the third venture in the Porshretail family alongside Morara Winery and Tau Ecosystem Books.
