Civilized University · Every Family. One Universe.
The doors open on 21 July. You don't need a matric, a bursary, or permission — you need a family and a Sunday evening.
On 21 July 2026, the day schools reopen across South Africa, Civilized University opens with it. Registration and founding-family testing are happening right now, through the holidays. This is the announcement we've been building toward: the first families are enrolling, the first republics are being founded, and the door is open to anyone who wants to walk through it.
Let's be clear about what this is, up front. Civilized University is a CivilVerse program — not a registered higher-education institution, and we're not pretending to be one. There's no degree, no NQF qualification, no accreditation, and we make no claim to any. “University” here is a name for what happens in your home: a place where a family learns to govern itself. It's a claim on your living room, not on a diploma. We got there first on saying so, because we'd rather tell you plainly than have you wonder.
So what actually opens on 21 July?
Not a campus. Something smaller and, we think, bigger: a way to turn your household into a republic your children help run. Every family that enrolls founds its own small government — the same institutions every child will one day meet in the real world, built first at the kitchen table:
- A Family Constitution the children help write — because a rule a child helped write is a rule a child keeps.
- A Family Parliament — real meetings with agendas, motions and votes, chaired by your kids.
- A Family Court — where sibling fights become lessons in fairness and repair instead of shouting.
- A Family Treasury — where pocket money becomes budgeting, saving, and pitching for capital.
You're not handed blank templates and wished luck. Your family's textbook is the Master Volume — a fully worked example of a founded family, every office held, every form filled in. Read it in an hour, copy what fits, change the names.
Who is this for? Honestly — anyone.
Rural, township, farm, suburb. Big families and small ones. A parent raising kids alone and a house full of cousins. You do not need money to start — registration is free. If you've ever nagged, punished, watched a chore chart die by week two, and wished your children were quietly learning how money, rules and fairness actually work — this was built for you.
And to say it plainly: we're still looking for people who want to see this succeed. Founding families who enroll now join the trial before classes begin, and some will be selected for the CivilVerse Show — following real families across South Africa as they found their republics. If you want to be part of something at the beginning, this is the beginning.
Classes begin 21 July 2026 · Founding-family testing open now · Secunda, Govan Mbeki
A child who runs a Parliament at home is not playing — they are rehearsing the world they will inherit.
