SECUNDA, SOUTH AFRICA — This July, while the schools stand quiet for the winter holidays, a new kind of university is opening for registration. It has no lecture halls and no campus gates — because its campus is your home, and its student body is your whole family.
Civilized University, built on the CivilVerse system, teaches the subjects no school timetable covers: how rules and rights actually work, how democratic decisions get made, how disputes are resolved by fair process instead of shouting, and how money is budgeted, saved, and grown. Children don't study these institutions from a distance — they run them. The household becomes the first government; the allowance becomes the first economy; the family meeting becomes the first parliament.

South African public schools reopen for Term 3 on 21 July 2026 — and that is when Civilized University's first classes begin, with live class times and content for enrolled families. The holidays are for what holidays are for at any university: registration, orientation, and testing.
We are looking for founding test families — households of any shape or size who want to be part of the first intake, test the curriculum in their own homes before term starts, and shape what this university becomes. Founding families enroll now, receive their textbook immediately, and spend the holidays founding their own family republic.
